THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

VISUALISATION SUPERVISOR

On location in Pinewood London, Dave and his team from The Third Floor worked with JJ Abrams to visualise many of the most iconic moments of the conclusion to the Skywalker saga. Selected sequences included the speeder chase, Rey’s showdown, the submerged death star, the worm, and the rebel landing on the Star Destroyer.

Work was initially prevised in maya, heavily animated, before being fed to virtual production. Once the footage was captured, it was brought back to Dave’s team to be postvised in nuke.

VISUALISATION SUPERVISOR

Dave and his team at The Third Floor worked closely with Rob Marshall to help visualise key sequences for the follow up to the beloved classic. Key sequences worked on were the kite introduction, the magic papers, “Can You Imagine That?” (Underwater), Turn Back Time (Ben Ben), and the “Nowhere to go but Up” sequences.

In each of the sequences, Dave and his team prevised the sequences and then once shot, translated the work into preliminary visual effects using a postvis methodology.
